February, 15 2022 - Verified by Radford UniversityI am placed in a middle school special education classroom where I follow a special education case manager, co-teach math and provide support to students doing math, lead a case study project with a student, attend meetings, and other tasks.
In the fall, I was placed in a kindergarten class where I co-taught a week long social studies lesson, led math small groups, taught scripted ELA curriculum, provided support for students, and assisted students with completing work.
I supported 18-21 year old students with disabilities with participating in age level tasks such as attending classes, cooking, having a job, etc on Radford University's Campus
-During the summer, I oversee a group of 5-21 year old campers with varying disabilities to ensure their safety and participation, manage a group of staff, direct staff to complete tasks, clean the camp environment, delegate responsibilities, drive the bus, oversee recreation activities, plan and execute field trips, pair staff with campers, etc.
- When not in summer, I attend programs and activities for people with disabilities over the age of 18, provide support and encouragement so they can participate as independent as possible.
I assisted patrons to find materials, use technology, locate classrooms, and navigate Peter's hall.
