Doris Duke Conservation Scholar at University of Washington
I spent two summers with a diverse and passionate cohort in an experiential-learning program to promote inclusivity in the future of conservation leadership and disciplines.
2016: Developed a research project around perceptions of green space and urban density in the greater Seattle area. Conducted an online survey and presented findings in the form of a poster at the program summit.
2015: Met with ecologists and conservation professionals around Washington State to analyze the impact of human development on natural environments, learn different conservation approaches, and discuss how conservation is related to cultural heritage and environmental justice. Worked with a diverse group of students to evaluate conservation issues in urban and exurban environments, developing communication and teamwork skills.
