Glee Club
The Georgia Tech Glee Club is the oldest student organization on the Georgia Tech campus, the oldest Glee Club in the South, and one of the oldest such groups in the country. Featuring a healthily irreverent blend of music, drama, and vocal/visual performance antics, the Georgia Tech Glee Club performs original arrangements of unaccompanied music, incorporating vocal percussion, movement, and technology.
I joined the Glee Club because, at the time, I absolutely hated singing in front of others. I thought the club would be the perfect way to seek discomfort, and I wanted to conquer my fear. Now, I can say that I sing "somewhat" better and had a blast as the club's publicist and liaison, ensuring the Glee Clubs cheer spread across, not just campus, but the world!

SEED
SEEK Discomfort First-Year Leadership Organization, or SEED, was created with the belief that lifes greatest moments and opportunities for growth lie outside of your comfort zone, and that developing as a leader is much easier and more enjoyable when empowered by a supportive community. SEED develops first-year students into leaders by pushing them outside of their comfort zones through weekly meetings, activities, and events that focus on topics with real opportunities for leadership development and growth. This approach encourages members to dream bigger, push past their perceived limits, and unlock their full potential.
I joined SEED during my first year at Georgia Tech, and I can confidently say it was the best decision of my college career. Joining SEED gave me the confidence to be myself, whether that meant the version of me researching at Emory or the one scrambling with my friends to complete world records for the longest hopscotch course (4.2 miles) and the longest game of four square (32 hours) just for fun! I can never fully express how grateful I am to my advisors for creating this wonderful community, but Im glad I was able to give back by becoming an advisor for another generation of SEEDlings before I graduated. Out of all the experiences I had at Tech, this was the one that truly set me up for success throughout college and beyond.
