Who doesnt love to dance?
Dancing is one of my favorite ways to express myself and is what inspired me to study Performance and Communication Arts at St. Lawrence University. After taking a ballet class during my first semester, I was hooked on the major and decided to continue exploring by working behind the scenes in Gulick Theater, dancing in university productions, and studying communication theory.
Its all about expression!
When Im not expressing myself through dance, you might find me online or immersed in the Adobe Creative Cloud creating digital media. During my senior year at St. Lawrence I completed an honors project titled Bewilderments of the Eyes. For the project I directed three live performances focused on the application of communication theory through performance, in addition to developing advertising, a website, and digital media to support the project. Visit the project website: bewildermentsoftheeyes.weebly.com!
After graduating I started working for Nature Up North where I was able to further explore my interest in communications. In my internship, I generated web content, wrote blog posts, created informational videos, and maintained social media accounts. One of my favorite parts of the internship was designing e-newsletters for our email subscribers. When I developed a welcome email our click rate on links to our website within the email increased by over 50%.
Working behind the scenes:
Working in theater has also been very important to me and combines some of my favorite things: creativity, team work, and hands-on learning. My experiences in the theater taught me how to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and communicate effectively. I loved being a part of the team and experiencing the creative process behind the scenes.
What I aim for:
My goal is to continue applying the skills I have learned to promote meaningful content through creative mediums and inspire others.
