August, 06 2018 - University of San DiegoI worked as the student representative for the Scholastic Assistant and LLC program at the University of San Diego. I created applications, conducted interviews, facilitated selection meetings, worked with various stakeholders to plan student leader training seminars and Fall Training, lead student leader panels, assist in professional development, keep track of leaders fulfilling their roles, and help to hold critical conversations when problems arise. Spring 2019, I have helped to interview and hire an incoming Scholastic Chair and now work with her to transition all of my work to her as I guide her in the new Scholastic Assistant hiring process and transition out of the role. During Summer 2018, I worked full-time in the office.
I nanny 15-30 hours/week for a French family. I speak French with the children and help them with their French & English homework. I run errands, go shopping, and take the children to their events as needed. I run nightly routines with them where we practice "sleep hygeine" & we regularly do arts & crafts. The children are 9 and 6 years old!
I instructed private, small, and large swim lesson ranging in ages from 6 months - 13 years old. I planned all the lessons and worked on my own to teach swimming. I helped run swimming summer camps as well and received Splash Babies and CPR certifications for this job.
I represented the Cultivate LLC during its inaugural year at USD. I helped to create its mission statement, plan its first LLC-wide events, and hire the Scholastic Assistants that would serve in Cultivate. I worked closely with the
theme team comprised of the Facilitating RA, Community Director, and Faculty Integration Coordinator, Dr. Drew Talley, to plan and implement events and create newsletters and promotional materials. I worked directly with the
Scholastic Chair to help monitor the progress of my Scholastic Assistants and aid in student leader trainings to help benefit the first-year transition.
I served in the Globalization LLC to work with an Intro to Logic class of eighteen first-year students. I planned registration events, worked closely with their professor, provided study sessions, hosted social events, met one-on-one with all students
throughout the semester, and served as a primary resource for those needing help with their transition to USD.
Serve as a tutor and mentor for elementary students at Linda Vista Elementary school; I work with the homeroom teacher to provide assistance in individual and small group instruction, lesson planning and preparation, lesson instruction, and
classroom behavior management. I also work with the special education teacher to work individually with students who need additional instruction.
