Programs include supported employment, independent living, community living support, respite, and staff a recycling warehouse, where we help individuals gain work experience to lead to better employment opportunities. Our program provides services for Medicaid/Medicare through organizations such as Community Mental Health, Area Agency on Aging, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, the Veterans Administration, and others. We are a United Way funded agency, those funds go to support our community inclusion After Hours Program.
Operated and help grow the St. Joe Community Co-op 501C3 organization as part of GT's Management Team. Also supervised the GT Opportunities Programs for Skill Building, Supported Employment and Independent Living Services. Participated in GT's CARF Accreditation for all of the GT Opportunities Programs.
Rode along and supported Road Patrol Deputies in all functions of law enforcement. Maintain certifications in defensive tactics, pistol and shot gun qualifications, concealed-weapons permit, CPR/First Aid, pepper spray. Assisted with Southwest Enforcement Team raid's with multi-agency departments. Communicated with 911 Dispatch for complaints and traffic stops and helped provide aid at serious traffic accidents, in a first-responder capacity, until EMT's arrived. Actually worked from April 1993-March 1996 then September 1997 - May 1999.
Started out as general office manager, trained to install auto glass and residential glass, promoted up to Store Manager. Responsible for all functions of store operation and employee staffing, including estimates, scheduling, ordering, maintaining inventory, hiring/termination, servicing insurance accounts and helping customers file claims. Helped location meet and exceed monthly sales goals and grow customer base. Left August 1996 (maternity) returned to other location November 1996, then went to Action Glass Plus from May 1997 - May 1998, back to Quality Glass May 1998 - February 2000 then became stay-at-home mom.
