Lacey McDowell

I am proud to announce the steady climb to achieving a significant milestone in earning my bachelor's degree from Troy University. This future accomplishment reflects not only personal perseverance but a deep commitment to serving our nation. As a lifelong resident of Perry, Georgia, where I live with my partner and step-son, my journey has been shaped by a diverse range of experiences from a decade in childcare to entrepreneurship in commercial BBQ grill fabrication, to working for the Department of Defense. When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my business in early 2020, I transitioned into the defense sector, joining Northrop Grumman in Warner Robins, GA in 2020, where I supported critical Defense Systems operations. I was highly awarded within the company during my time as an Electronics Engineering Technician, receiving 2 company awards. That experience laid the foundation for my current role in civil service as an Electronics Mechanic with the Department of Defense at Robins Air Force Base, where I began working in 2023. During my time at Robins Air Force Base, I received 2 Civilian of the Quarter Awards within my first year of employment, as well as winning 2 Civilian of the Year awards for 2024. My academic training at Troy University has equipped me with the strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to our national defense. This degree strengthens my ability to support the warfighter and advance the Mission with excellence, integrity, and innovation. I am honored to apply my education from Troy University in service of the United States and to help ensure operational readiness and mission success at every level.
