Visible Light 3D Printing of Microneedles for Biomedical Applications
I researched light-based 3D-printed drug delivery systems (oral tablets, microneedles, etc.). I learned about ANYCUBIC Photon Mono 3 and MONO3Z1 3D printers. I created a Standard Operating Procedure for this last printer. And I helped the grad student leading the project with the resin preparation.
Research Projects
Solid microneedles for drug delivery purposes
For my Strength of Materials class, we worked in teams to create a biomedical application and analyze some of its mechanical properties. We designed a titanium microneedle patch and calculated the minimum axial stress each microneedle should support and the maximum bending force each microneedle can support.
Classwork
Role of Mitochondrial DNA in Cancer Mutations
As the final project for the class Introduction to Biology for Engineers, we did a poster presentation in groups. We conducted exhaustive research on the role of mitochondria in cancer development, created an academic poster, and presented it to classmates, professors, and faculty members.
