Ana Prospero Benitez

Laura Prospero is a Uruguayan multimedia artist and Fulbright Scholar based in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is currently completing a Masters degree in Media Arts, Design and Technology at North Carolina State University. She holds a Bachelors degree in Communication from the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay, and her education also includes studies in film and new media at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil, as well as academic work at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. During nearly six years in Mexico City, she collaborated with feminist organizations focused on womens rights. Her work explores the intersection of art and technology through immersive, participatory experiences that center queer and feminist narratives. Drawing from her background in audiovisual arts, she investigates how emotion, presence, and interaction can create spaces for visibility, connection, and transformation. Working across video, animation, sound, lighting, and interactive systems, Prospero develops environments where personal stories become shared experiences, and where the body plays an active role in shaping narrative and meaning.
