October, 18 2017 - Verified by Lehigh UniversityI was selected as one of twelve students in the 2020 Argentina cohort for the Martindale Student Associates Honors Program out of the Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise.
Established in 1980, the Martindale Student Associates Honors Program enables a select group of 12 Lehigh juniors and seniorsfrom across Lehighs three undergraduate collegesto explore global business, economic, and social issues through travel to organizations around the world, and meetings and discussions with thought leaders from government, business, social, academic and research institutions. The 15-month program is fully funded, and follows a competitive application process.
Activities begin in the February of the students junior year, and run through graduation. The students are tasked with conducting group and individual research, and with writing top class academic articles pertaining to the economy and public policy of our country of study for publication as a volume of the Martindale undergraduate research journal, Perspectives on Business and Economics.
The program features on-campus orientation sessions, a briefings trip in Washington D.C., an intensive 12-day field immersion research trip in the country of study, writing and research workshops, presentation and peer review meetings, and a semester of independent study. Each student is assigned a faculty mentor to provide ongoing guidance and feedback.
As a LUSSI Student Advisor, I provide mentorship to a cohort of 20 F1RST+ students to ease their academic, professional, financial, and social transition into Lehigh. I coordinate programming on behalf of the Office of Student Access and Success to develop and facilitate workshops to expose students to campus life, resources, and opportunities.
As the Head Residential and Teaching Assistant (RTA) for LEAD at Lehigh University (summer 2019 cohort), I supervised other resident assistants and established expectations, schedules, assignments, programs, and communication plans. My duties also included managing all residence hall functions, classroom lectures, extracurricular activities, and corporate trips. I also prioritized the logistics, deliverables, time tables and schedules for executing, implementing and evaluating all the LEAD Summer Business Institute activities, events, and facilities. As the Head RTA, I supervised and managed the appropriate conduct and behavior of all high school student participants and other resident assistants. In addition, I provided around the clock presence during the program for emergency and management purposes.
As a Marketing Intern for Shanghai Tower during my study abroad program, I conducted research on prominent global landmarks for their annual International Vertical Marathon Competition. I also developed event suggestions for the collaboration of Shanghai Tower and NIO Grand Opening Ceremony. In addition, I also had the opportunity to translate official documents for a partnership with the International Olympic Committee to promote dual language communications during my time interning.
As a Resource Room Staff for Lehigh University's Office of Student Engagement, I supported Lehighs 200+ organizations in ensuring the effective creation and promotion of events. As part of the Newsletter committee, I also interviewed organizations on campus to promote on monthly MailChimp newsletter to increase publicity for both the office and the respective clubs. During my time working here, I had received the honor of "Employee of the Month" in March 2018 and October 2018.
