July, 26 2018 - Trevecca Nazarene UniversityEstablished a college and young adult ministry after nearly a decade in youth ministry where I watched students graduate and stop attending our church, in part, because there was no developmentally appropriate community to which they could connect. Provide pastoral care and pastoral counseling to college and young adult members of Belmont Church. Facilitate college group meetings, train students to lead, manage, train, and coach group leaders for young adult group.
Senior leadership team responsible for decisions related to the day to day running of the organization. Part of my duties include leading and coaching staff pastors who have roles working with children, youth, and emerging adults. Occasionally, attend elders meetings. Im the only woman on this team. Thus, when meeting with elders I am the only female voice and perspective in a room with 13 men charged to make the highest level leadership decisions in the organization.
I am the principal writer at Church, Please! Church Please is a blog about church and Christian environments concerned with how the realities of those environments intersect with mental health. Work one-on-one with resident youth pastors in graduate program, assisting them in the mastery of critical ministry skills and applying what theyve learned in the classroom to the ministry setting. Also, work directly with the local church to help the staff and congregation develop a healthy understanding of youth ministry and how to best integrate it into the life of the congregation.

Maintained momentum and structure of youth department during youth pastor transition. Managed 17 volunteer leaders. Fostered a climate of unity, love and loyalty while projecting a sense of security within the group. Provided teaching, pastoral counseling, pastoral care, leadership of youth group, and administrative duties.
Instrumental in 400% growth of youth group. Identified problems with worship, applied solutions, re-established youth worship department and appointed an adult worship leader to teach, train and mentor youth worship team and youth worship leaders, instituted new programs for middle school and high school. Taught, counseled, mentored and pastored youth students. Recruited, trained and resourced volunteers. Developed successful new youth missions camp, GLocal - Think Global. Act Local.
