Mock Trial

Mock trial engages students in trial simulations in competitions with teams from other schools to help students develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, as well as the knowledge of legal practice and procedures. Each legal team consists of 2 sides, the defense and the plaintiff/prosecution (depending on civil or criminal case). On each side there are 3 witness; 2 character witnesses and 1 "expert" witness, along with 2 lawyers. Competitions mimic the basic legal flow with opening statements, direct and cross questioning, closing statements, and open objections.
