Lillie Oravetz

Member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
From Sunnyvale, California
I have experience in education, public speaking and organizing, ecological research, student leadership, and nannying/tutoring. I currently am working as a Visitor Center and Environmental Education Intern for the National Forest Service. I worked as a teacher in Sprout Up, in which I taught first and second graders the basics of the environment, and nannied/tutored for different families. Both of these emphasized asking questions to guide the students to the right answer and clarifying topics. Both have given me experience with differing grade levels. I worked in an ecology lab, and learned how to properly design and set up an experiment as well as data analysis using the R program and JMP, therefore basic statistics. I also took care of insects for experimentation and did field work collecting insects and gathering plant data. I also was an officer of SEEDS, an ecology club, and have been the fundraising coordinator and the secretary. I am interested in a field which combines both education and some sort of ecology research.
