Luke Zappia
I aspire to deliver the highest level of compassionate care coupled with the latest innovations in medicine.
Over the last year, I worked as the clinical research coordinator for Mirza Orthopedics as well as the research and development intern for A.M. Surgical Inc. Our research primarily focused on clinical outcomes, novel techniques, and device development for minimally invasive hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgery.
During my undergraduate, I worked in the Williams Microbiology and Genomics Lab at Providence College. Our research focused on isolating and characterizing predatory bacteria from the built environment. Predatory bacteria are currently being studied as a potential biocontrol agent against drug-resistant biofilm formations.
Over the last three years, I have had the honor of volunteering with Smile Trains Young Leadership Circle. Surrounded by like-minded professionals, our board has echoed Smile Trains mission of providing a sustainable approach to comprehensive cleft care.
