I begin my college career in 2010. While attending many obstacles came my way. JSU has degrees that can be earned 100% online. The online environment is what made a huge difference in my success. I was able to crush all obstacles and continue my education online. I did not do it without the support of my advisor and instructors. At the end of my first semester I distinguished myself academically and was recognized for the Deans List. During the summer of 2011, I was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. One year after earning recognition for the Deans List I earned the appropriate grade point average to be recognized for the Presidents List. Most recently I was inducted into Alpha Eta Epsilon which is a Family and Consumer Sciences Honorary Society. During the year of 2016 I learned that no matter what we major in or plan to study we must find ways to have on-going professional training and we must have access to the organizations that will keep us up-to-date on new research, new information, new scientific results, and give us ways to remain innovative in todays turbulent workforce. Joining the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences was the perfect way to maintain my professional development. Currently I am completing my internship at Capstone Child Development Center and I will graduate April of 2017.
