As a faculty assistant in the History Department, I am responsible for working directly with my supervisor to aid him in his research and assist with class preparation. I am responsible for independently navigating through primary sources on microfilms and photoscans to search for, evaluate, and transcribe relevant research material. I analyze historical data and document my findings in a shareable format for further analysis and review. Additionally, I work directly with students to facilitate the development of their research and argumentative essay writing skills.

Pleasant Hill Collections Intern at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

As an intern at the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, I gained invaluable experience in persevering historical artifacts, utilizing PastPerfect (collections management software), attending and participating in professional organization meetings, and collaborating with a professional moving team to transport historical artifacts to a new storage site. During my internship I attended the Kentucky Museum & Heritage Alliance Professional Development & Networking Conference 2017 where I attended lectures ranging from "Culturally-Sensitive Collections and How to Deal With Them" to "Exhibits 101: From Idea to Implementation on a Shoestring Budget."

Graphics Lab Associate at Berea College

As a lab associate of the Graphics Lab, I was required to work with a team of other lab associates in order to maintain the lab equipment and assist students with their projects. I worked directly under my supervisor to assist him in his personal research and creative projects. I worked with a variety of digital programs, which include Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. In this position I gained experience with photography, woodworking, screen printing, and extensive independent graphic design drafting.
