Madeline Mathers

Majored in Television-Radio
Ithaca College, Class of 2019
From Cambridge, NY
I am a continuing junior at Ithaca College, majoring in Television & Radio Communications with a concentration in Audio Production & Sound Engineering, and a minor in Environmental Studies . I am graduating December 2018 which is also my final semester (in Los Angeles) where I am pursuing multiple internships within my field of study that will allow me to expand my skills & knowledge. I am currently producing a TV show with a few of my colleagues called "Judgement Day" for Ithaca College's ICTV Network. The first season is expected to be aired in the Fall of 2017. While producing the music and audio for the show, I have learned that working with ICTV has helped me gain in-studio & field experience &has helped me understand the importance of working as a team. I'm the Local Music Director for 91.7FM and DJ for a specialty show called Homebrew, for Ithaca College's radio station. I am also involved with Ithaca College's Buzzsaw Magazine. Writing for Buzzsaw has helped me better understand how to write for a target audience & work collaboratively with others while still expressing my own ideas. I am determined to intertwine my skills & knowledge with my passions for music, nature, photography& animation, into a cohesive profession. These passions have sparked my interest for internship opportunities & future job opportunities with companies like Dolby, ESPN, X-Games, Nat Geo, Dew Tour, SONY, & Nickelodeon. I would say that my interests lay primarily with Sound Design & Audio Production for video games/animation. I am also extremely dedicated to the environment and being a voice for the ecosystems in our world that are rapidly dying. I am interested in areas of media production, writing, field study & research within the environmental science realm. I would like the opportunity to intern for the EDF, NPS, EFA, NSF and any other organizations that will guide me in this direction and help me to obtain and expand the skills necessary for these departments.
