I work in the area of semiconductor device physics and multiscale heat transfer with applications in electronic materials and devices. My PhD thesis was based on modeling and characterization of carbon nanotube electronics with focus on the design solutions for improved electrical performance and thermal reliability. I have also worked on devising novel cooling methods for thermal management of microprocessors to solve heat dissipation issues related to local hot-spots and high power density. Besides solving multidisciplinary problems using computational approach, I have also been involved in experiments related to fluid mechanics and heat transfer using state of art tools and techniques. For example, I designed, built and performed an experiment during my Masters thesis to study blood flow dynamics in abdominal aortic aneurysm using particle image velocimetry. I have also been involved in teaching fluid mechanics and heat transfer topics to undergraduate classes and labs.
