Greenback Staff

The Greenback Staff is the school's yearbook organization. Staff members are expected to take and collect photographs from school events, conduct student interviews, and design pages highlighting important events throughout the school year. For my second year on staff, I was selected to be the Editor-in-Chief of the 2018/2019 book. As Editor-in-Chief, in addition to all of the normal responsibilities of staff members, I oversaw the entire staff's work and progress, offered design input, edited all spreads before submission, and performed business tasks. The book I served as Editor-in-Chief for was a national award-winning book.

Student Council

Student Council is the student governing body, consisting of general members and an executive board who make decisions regarding student activities on campus. Student Council hosts the Homecoming dance, creates spirit week and football game themes, and provides aid to other organizations on campus. As Student Council President my senior year, I initiated an annual social awareness project, focusing on mental health awareness. Through Student Council, I had the opportunity to attend two Louisiana Association of Student Councils (LASC) summer workshops and state conventions, where I was elected to serve as the LASC District II Parliamentarian in 2018.

Louisiana Girls State, or LAGS, is a summer workshop with the goal of developing leadership and pride in American citizens, educate delegates about state and national systems of government, instill a greater understanding of American traditions, and stimulate a desire to maintain the democratic process. Citizens must exemplify high moral character, interest in current events, strong leadership qualities, and an above-average scholastic standing.

Pause

"Pause" is the Ponchatoula High School yearbook for the 2018 school year. "Pause" encourages readers to stop and enjoy the small moments that are often missed as life flies by. I was selected to be the Editor-in-Chief of this yearbook. This book was selected by Herff Jones to be featured in "The Best of Herff Jones," an annually published book that highlights the best yearbooks produced by schools.

From All Angles

"From All Angles" is the Ponchatoula High School yearbook for the 2017 school year. Although I was just a general staff member, I contributed greatly to the design of the book, from introducing the thematic concept, finding ways to incorporate the theme of the book into each spread, choosing specific design elements that matched the theme, and designing the book cover. My photography was not only featured on my spreads, but also on numerous spreads throughout the book.
