Homestead Building systems is an NHQ Certified Trade Partner that specializes in engineering, manufacturing and installing engineering wood products to include open wed floor trusses, I-Joists, wall panels and roof trusses. I worked with a full line of high end software solutions: Mitek Sapphire, Epicor BisTrack, and BC Framer. The internship involved working with blue prints and architectural plans to design the framing for homes as I practiced my skills on Mitek. I Communicated with designers in India, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and all over Virginia on scheduling designs and working with the team leaders to update designs based on the clients selections. Every design was reviewed before being released to ensure the dimensions were correct, the clients preferences were included and to review the location of any joist, floor containers, wall thickness, floor heights, elevation, restrictions, and codes were met.
