I am currently a freshman at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I plan to major in graphic design and minor in advertising. I completed my first semester of college at the University of North Georgia. In the summer of 2016, I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea for seven weeks with NSLI-Y to intensively study Korean. NSLI-Y (National Security Language Initiative for Youth) is a study abroad scholarship sponsored by the US Department of State. Now, I am an alumnus, and I am conversational in Korean. My main interests are writing, literature, various cultures, design, art, storytelling, and the Korean language. Please contact me if you have any questions!

Maris Mongero was recognized for studying abroad
Studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea for seven weeks to intensively study Korean for 25 hours a week in school, as well as fully immersing myself into the language. Through the NSLI-Y (National Security Language Initiative for Youth) program, I was able to become conversational in Korean after being a novice beginner. This program is sponsored by the US Department of State.
