I waitress as well as hostess at this diner a few times a week. As a waitress at The Whippany Diner, I greet customers, take food orders, and bring food/drinks to the tables. This is the town I live in; therefore I constantly see/serve people that I know, which results in better tips. This job is very convenient for me because it is less than 10 minutes away from my school. This job has also helped me better my communication skills because I deal with all kinds of people. As a hostess, I am the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the diner. Not only do I greet customers among their arrival, but I also seat customers, answer the phone, and get the "to-go" orders ready. I also interact with many different types of people and get to wear my own wardrobe.

As a waitress at Frank's Pizza and Italian Restaurant in Cedar Knolls, Nj, I greeted customers, took food orders, and brought food/drinks to the tables. This job was my first waitressing job and helped me with my communication skills. I often saw people I knew, which made it easier to make conversation.

As a server/cashier at Rita's Italian Ice in Lake Hiawatha, Nj, it was my job to serve customers, prepare their orders, answer phone calls, and ring customers up at the register. I was also in charge of opening and/or closing the store on certain days.
