Entrepreneurship for the Public Good at Berea College
The Entrepreneurship for the Public Good (EPG) Program at Berea College creates a multi-year, learning experience for undergraduate students to practice and implement Entrepreneurial Leadership in the rural communities of Appalachia. Developing a social entrepreneurial mindset benefits the students from all disciplinary fields through field work as they build practical skill sets. For the first year, through customer discoveries, human centered-design thinking, development and presentations I was able to progress and solidify my entrepreneurial skill-sets by prototyping an American Cycling Association (ACA)-Daniel Boone Trace Trail map. This project will transform the communities to allow for adventure tourism and will increase their health and socioeconomic well-being. For my second year, I will be completing a Direct Field Experience (DFE) to further develop my entrepreneurial expertise.
