Operations Sergeant- Law Enforcement Training at 511th Millitary Police Company
Conducts the duties of a Operations Sergeant task as a subject matter expert to assist the S3 Law Enforcement Section in developing training systems to better equip Military Police Soldiers conducting law enforcement on Fort Drum. While in the performance of this position developed multiple survey's and analytic tools to track gaps in training identified by field interviews, assessments, and focus group meetings.
Currently working on two electronic performance support systems (EPSS) to breach the knowledge gaps identified in the above surveys. The EPSS is currently using HTML5 and able to be used on all mobile browsing.
Additionally tasked as the MPDO which provides installation-wide supervision to Patrol personnel and operational command of all emergencies, serious incidents, major crime scenes, and non-emergency calls for service. The specific areas of responsibilities include:
Functional supervision of all personnel assigned to each shift
o Tactical field operations
o Emergency planning
o Coordination of mutual aid incidents
o Media relations - in the absence of the Public Information Officer
o Administration review of all casework and blotter entries
o Department security during non-business hours
MPDO interface with other sections of the DES to ensure problem oriented policing projects are facilitated, community policing issues are addressed, and all field resources are employed in the most effective manner possible.
