Sophie McAdara

A recipient of the Cleveland C. Burton Fellowship in International Studies for the 2023 calendar year. This award is intended to support study abroad for high-achieving undergraduates in the Fulbright College. This award specifically will provide $4,000.00 to support your study abroad program with API Semester Intensive French in Grenoble in Fall semester 2023.

As President, I serve University Programs as a liaison from the board to the campus community, faculty and staff, and oversee our ten person board. Thus far, I have increased membership enrollment and engagement, event turnout, and improved campus culture regarding our organization. Through this position I serve on the Programs Allocations Board, which allocates University of Arkansas' student activities fee. This year, in addition to the primary round of funding, we have 2 million dollars to allocate for the well-being of our campus community. It is my job to ensure we are fairly and appropriately spending the student fee in a way that represents our student body. Other duties include working with other campus organizations to ensure programming is effective and does not overlap, ensuring our council is working to the best of our ability, and acting as a mentor to new students who are looking to get involved in our campus community.
