I served nearly four years in The United States Marine Corps. My commander's remarks regarding my service follow: Corporal McEntyre built an excellent reputation as a highly driven and proficient Marine. When I conducted billet turnover with my predecessor, it was determined that Cpl. McEntyre was an excellent choice to fill the position of squad leader until a Marine of higher rank arrived. Cpl. McEntyre led twelve marines with a calm and professional demeanor and exceeded expectations for a marine of his rank. In this role, he accounted for more than $100,000 of serialized gear and equipment, and was personally responsible for the morale and welfare of his squad. During our deployment in support of the 31st MEU, Cpl. McEntyre was hand selected to be part of a four-man element from the company to conduct training with multinational forces. This was a direct reflection of his high competence, dependability, and sustained performance.
