Melfry Gonzalez

Melfry Gonzalez is an honors Biology student with a concentration in Biomedical Science, born and raised in the Dominican Republic. One of Melfry's many goals is to attend medical school, become a physician, and advocate for quality care. During the summer of 2021, Melfry was invited by the University of South Carolina: School of Medicine Greenville to participate in a 2-week summer experience on substance use and disorder. During the summer of 2022, melfry was chosen as one of the 47 scholars to participate in the MUSC Summer Undergraduate Research Program. She's currently an interpreter at Volunteers in Medicine, president of the Pre-Professional Association, and Executive committee of Gamma Beta Phi. She's also the co-founder of the First Generation Student Organization at the University of South Carolina - Beaufort.
