Mike Alvarez

Mike Alvarez is a PhD candidate in Communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he is studying cybersuicide and its representation in moving image media. He is also writing a book titled, The Paradox of Suicide and Creativity, under contract with Rowman & Littlefield's Lexington imprint. Mike is a recipient of the prestigious Soros Fellowship, and his writings have appeared in Cross-cultural Studies, The Awakenings Review, Mason's Road, Connotation Press, and New Writing, among others.
