Summer/ Fall Intern at Aim Higher Now
Aim Higher Now believes in North Carolina¹s exceptionalism. We work to hold our lawmakers accountable to the values that have made North Carolina great‹access to the best public schools and universities, investments in public infrastructure, and equal rights and opportunity for all. We do this by taking progressive messages directly to people in their communities through data-driven, targeted field and digital programs.
Across our state thousands of North Carolinians are struggling to recover from the recession. Instead of supporting policies that help working families, politicians in Raleigh have pushed a far-right agenda that favors the wealthy and special interests over regular working families in our state. While the state legislature is in session, Aim Higher Now will be asking our state legislators to be champions for the middle class by supporting our public schools, teachers and students, creating better paying jobs, and promoting fair taxes that reward hardworking families and small businesses.
We are building a long-term organizing effort in our communities. Over the coming months, we will be organizing phone banks, canvasses, press events, voter registration drives, and skill building training on organizing tactics. Whether you're a student who wants to learn the ins and outs of organizing, retired and hoping to raise your level of commitment, or anyone in between, the Internship program is for you. We're relying on energetic and passionate people to help build a long-term infrastructure.
The Internship program is designed to test, train, and develop the next generation of community organizers. Organizing is inspiring, complex, moving, and difficult work. Interns who complete the program will leave with a full understanding of the tools, tactics, and language that organizers use to make change in their communities.
