I am a doctoral candidate in public policy in the joint Ph.D program at Georgia State University and Georgia Institute of Technology. I am currently completing my dissertation entitled American Cities in Turbulent Economic Times: an Exploration of Financial Slack in Municipal Finance. My research focuses on how financial resources and their management affect the operation and outcomes of organizations. My research scope covers both the public and not-for-profit sectors because both provide collective goods and services to the public. I taught an undergraduate course--Introduction to Policy Analysis, and an MPA/MPP course--Applied Research Methods and Statistics. I also guest-lectured the undergraduate and MPAs government budgeting and finance classes.

Janet Box-Steffensmeier Scholarship
The Society for Political Methodology and the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) established the Janet Box-Steffensmeier Scholarship, which is a waiver of Program Scholar fees to attend one or both of the ICPSR Summer Program's four-week sessions. The scholarship will be awarded to a maximum of three women graduate students in Ph.D. programs.

ASPA’s signature program for students is the Founders’ Fellows Program.
