Mitchell Skatter

Iowa State University
From Cokato, MN
My personal values reflect on who I am and who I want to become, if one cannot see what I am passionate about then I have failed them and myself in living through my values. I value philanthropy, service, education and family. Through philanthropy and community service I am able to pay it forward for those that took care of me when I was in the hospital with a rare disease. Education is the way to guarantee that you can make a difference at a higher level, allowing one to influence everyone they meet and leave an everlasting impact. Finally family is the most important, without family one has no legacy, the legacy shouldnt live through the person but through the love ones that that person impacted at every stage of their life.

Advance Design Airframe Engineer at Textron Aviation | Cessna
Being apart of the Advance Design team for the Next Generation Turboprop (NGTP) for Textron Aviation has been an amazing opportunity! Through my position I have the opportunity to work alongside some of the best engineers in the aviation industry. My main responsibilities include designing parts that cut weight, save money and save manufacturing time. Some of the parts that I am in charge of are the spoiler, main landing gear, trailing edge flaps, and skid rails. This internship has given me a better understanding of how the classroom and real-life connect. I am glad that I have had this opportunity and hope to be apart of an amazing team in the future!
