Poetry Club

This club activity was a positive way to communicate hardships, feelings,and experiences in a creative manner. It also allowed for growth in writing skills since we received constructive criticism and feedback for each of our writing pieces. We also got a chance to enhance our analytical skills, since we also analyzed poetry from outside sources. At the end of each year we put together a poetry slam open for anyone.

Color guard

The color guard is responsible for the visual aesthetic of marching band performances. As a captain I took on many roles. I was in charge of administrative things like registration forms, absence notification forms etc... I also lead the first part of every practice which consisted of stretches, and technique. I held one on one or group sectional practices if needed. I got opportunities to write movement for certain parts of our shows.

Helping Hands at Work

We had a fun time coming up with ideas to spread awareness on multiple health related issues. One project I am particularly fond of is a flash mob that I helped choreograph in order to bring awareness to National Women and Girls' HIV.
