Monica Langer

At Gettysburg, I created an Individual Major which merged the disciplines of Psychology and Education. Having a background in both areas will better prepare me to work with learning disabled children and their teachers. I have also learned from internship experience that there is often a link between childhood mental illness and learning difficulties. I hope to be able to counsel learning disabled children through the use of therapy and cognitive learning theories in order to help them succeed in school. I am learning disabled myself, and have a personal understanding of how difficult it is to succeed in school, especially in today's competitive environment.
