Under direct supervision of Dr. Marilee Bresciani Ludvik at San Diego State University, will collaborate in formatting, writing and editing a book proposal for mindfulness curriculum and mindfulness teacher training for PK-12 and students in Higher Education. The main focus of this position is combing through the mindfulness training to find where cultural relevance points may be needed along with questions on to help make the training clear and understandable across cultures.

Supported by a three year National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF REU) grant, the Summer Research Coordinator (SRC) will serve as the primary liaison between the OUR, the student participants and the faculty that mentor them. Specifically the SRC will be primarily responsible for nine NSF REU students and all activities associated with the ten-week summer program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist in the marketing and communication of OUR NSF REU activities to students, faculty mentors, and other administrators on- and off-campus. 2. Provide assistance to and manage communication with students who are interested in engaging in undergraduate research as part of the NSF REU. 3. Maintain and enhance the OUR NSF REU website to ensure accessibility and clarity. 4. Work with the OUR Director and the NSF REU faculty to create, schedule, prepare materials for workshops, community building and networking events. 5. Process applications, paperwork and records. Maintain filing system. 6. Manage workflow and contribute to quality improvement of forms and application materials. 7. Work with Human Resources, Payroll Services, One-Stop, Residential Life and other on campus units in the disbursement of funds to undergraduate student research and creative endeavors. 8. Compile and maintain participant records for the database. 9. Publicize undergraduate students’ research achievements. 10.Assist Director in preparing program budgets and annual report for approval of supervisor and manage and monitor expenditures. 11.Administer pre- and post-evaluation instruments, assemble data, evaluate data to determine effectiveness of programming and recommend improvements or changes,write and/or edits reports. 12. Provide on-site supervision of events, oversee facilities use, provide support and assist in problem resolution. 13. May perform office support functions and projects, as assigned.
