I have had years of experience in retail, the food industry, as well as the health field. I currently am employed in the Neurology Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, a full time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Communication Studies and minor in Human Relations at the University of Iowa, and a research assistant for Doctor Tamara Afifi. My ultimate goal is to pursue a career within Human Resources. I am very passionate about helping others and hope to make many positive impacts on the lives of others.

As an undergraduate student I have to privilege of working under Doctor Tamara Afifi as a research assistant for her study Theory of Resilience and Relational Load (TRRL). As a research assistant I perform the following tasks. ● Recruit patients and families in the Pediatrics clinic multiple hours a week ● Drive to subjects home and collect a variety of data ● Perform data gathering ● Collect blood and saliva samples ● Verify patients’ vitals ● Administer blood tests using the collected specimens to check cholesterol and cortisol levels ● Assign and record tasks performed by couples over a determined period of time
