Quantifying Nitrogen-Vacancy Center Density in Diamond Using Magnetic Resonance
In Summer 2018, I participated in the Center for Emergent Materials REU program at The Ohio State University through which I worked with IRG-3 (PI: P. Chris Hammel), specializing in ultra-sensitive nanoscale magnetic resonance. The focus of my project was in quantifying nitrogen-vacancy center density in diamond using magnetic resonance. This 10-week program affirmed my interests in a research career and broadened my research interests to include condensed matter. I will continue my research with this group from my own university, and build upon my experience for both my physics and mathematics senior theses. I was nominated by OSU to present at the CUR National REU Symposium in Alexandria, VA and had the opportunity to present at this symposium in October, 2018. Each REU site can nominate only one student.
