Marichelle Pita

Majored in Management
New York Institute of Technology, Class of 2023
From Westchester, NY
I am a fourth year medical student, MS candidate, Academic Medicine Scholar, and recent MBA graduate at NYITCOM. Before entering medical school, I worked as Northeast hiring manager for ScribeAmerica. As senior hiring manager, I managed scribe hiring managers in several states in the Northeast region. I trained and provided continuing education for scribe hiring managers, chief scribes, and project managers to ensure positive applicant experience and improved scribe retention rate. I worked as scribe hiring manager in New York City from 2016 until 2019 and ensured scribe shifts in Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island were fully staffed by recruiting candidates and guiding new scribes through the hiring and on-boarding process. I also worked as a project manager and acted as the liaison between ScribeAmerica and the medical directors to initiate and implement new scribe programs. I have implemented scribe programs for various specialties including bariatric surgery, general surgery, internal medicine, gastroenterology, family medicine, and gynecology. I worked as an emergency department medical scribe for 3 years. I obtained patient history and completed medical charts in order to allow the providers to focus on medical decision-making and patient care. I also worked as medical scribe in various outpatient specialties. I am proficient in AllScripts, EPIC, NextGen, MDSynergy, and E-Clinical Works. Prior to medical school, I was a New York Cares volunteer and led several volunteer projects for over 7 years.
