July, 06 2017 - Iowa State UniversityI help design and improve processes. I use a software called SolidWorks to create parts and assemblies. The purpose of this internship is to learn how to eliminate waste and understand lean manufacturing.
I manage students in the grain lab by delegating tasks. We analyze corn, wheat, soybeans, and other grains. The data consists of moisture, density, and weight. I also help set up the machines and excel sheets to analyze.
I packaged materials in the Parts Distribution Center. We packed the packages with care for the customers. I helped in the small delivery and the freight area. I enjoyed meeting new people during this position.
I am a teaching assistant for TSM 115: Solving Technology Problems. My responsibilities are to help students understand how to problem solve, use data analysis, graph points, use SI units, and use a program called Aurduino to code a robot.
