Paula Lazarim

Paula Lazarim is a mental health counseling graduate student at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is also graduate assistant of the College of Psychology/Counseling Department since July 2017. With experience in Brazil with intercultural career counseling and coaching centered on acculturations impact and expatriation/repatriation processes, she has specialized in group socio-therapy that develops strengths based on previous successes and in the transference of skills and knowledge from one domain to other contexts. Her research interests include domestic violence; risk, preventive, and protective factors with populations living abroad; and acculturative crisis-associated phenomenon, behaviors, and disorders. She is currently developing a literature review on acculturation and Intimate Partner Violence related experiences in Brazilian immigrants and on the acculturative experience of Brazilians expatriates.
