Nicolas Beard

My name is Nicolas(Nico) Patrick Beard. I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. My mother was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, so I was fortunate enough not only to speak the Spanish language fluently, but also to experience the Spanish culture firsthand. I've gone to Madrid to visit my family every summer of my life as well as many Christmases. I've traveled to many different places throughout the world, especially Europe, giving me insight into many different cultures and widening my perspective of the world. My father is American and owns a restaurant called Bistro Aix located in San Francisco. As a result, I have a lot of experience with food and the restaurant industry in general. I started to work at his restaurant at the age of 16, learning the intricacies of running a successful restaurant while polishing my skills as a host/runner/busser. I've always been more adept at math in school, so I chose to pursue a degree in Computer Science and Business at Lehigh University. I'm a very active person who participates in sports and try to expand my social network as much as possible. I've played tennis since 7th grade and am currently playing club tennis at Lehigh University. Additionally, I play basketball in my free time in the gym. I'm a very adventurous person who likes to explore my surroundings. I play sports whenever I can, and not just basketball and tennis. Sometimes I'll play soccer or volleyball or a sport that intrigues me. I'm a hands-on person who learns quickly, but more importantly loves to learn. I hope to expand my knowledge as best as I can in the future because I know how crucial it will be to such a changing world.
