Press Intern at Center for American Progress
Throughout my time as the Press Intern at the Center for American Progress (CAP), I have gained exceptional experience that will certainly help me as I continue to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. I have been exposed to numerous communications experiences that I did not have coming in. Aside from my day-to-day tasks, I have been given much opportunity to learn the behind-the-scenes aspect of a press team, as well as the opportunity to talk to reporters, sit-in on radio and television interviews, and provide prep material and questions on interviewees. Because I was at a policy think tank, I was surrounded by politics 24/7, which I loved! I know that I now have experience and skills that I can use in my future endeavors in the field of political communications.
