I am a CCNA certified graduate student studying Telecommunications engineering technology at Rochester Institute of Technology. My area of interest is computer networking technologies. In addition to my academic curriculum, I have undertaken many networking projects which enhanced my knowledge about the field to the great extent.
Currently I am working on project which will give me an experience of establishing an optimized corporate network for an educational institution through simulation. This project involves configuring LAN/WAN network to connect all offices with the help of dedicated lines or MPLS network, whichever is more reliable and cost-effective.
My continuous hunger for learning new things in the field of networking keep me going and systematic and dedicated approach helps me getting the most from the endeavor.
Technical skills/interests:
--> Cisco routing and switching techniques, Cisco IOS, Cisco routers 2600 series.
--> Implementing STP, RIP, RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, ARP, TCP/IP

• Managing the system team and field technician team for the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center (HVTMC).
• Responsible for the entire Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) network, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, wireless modems, (around 50 network equipment including Cisco 881, Cisco 2951, Cisco 3900, Cisco 2955, Cisco 3560, Cisco 3750, Cisco 4948, SonicWALL N 2400, EtherWAN EX78000, Sierra Wireless Raven X), workstations, T1 lines, Fiber optics infrastructure, IP/analog cameras, Variables Messages Signs (VMS), ITS sensors and detectors. Maintaining NYSDOT HVTMC video multicast network.
• Reviewing the RFPs and final project reports from various contractors for ITS projects.
• Providing support for integration of new ITS systems and NYSDOT construction projects affecting the HVTMC network.
• Developing, configuring and integrating network infrastructure for various ITS projects. Reviewing the security aspects of the network architecture and taking appropriate actions to mitigate the possible threats.
• Integration of the NY state wide Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) in HVTMC.
• Providing weekly and monthly progress reports to NYS DOT managers. Advising managers and other team members to optimize the resources of TMC.
• Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with other government agency IT departments to ensure proper distribution of ITS information.
• Providing support in the case of system outages on a 24/7 basis.
