Oscar Aguilar-Cruz

Majored in Civil Engineering
Clarkson University, Class of 2020
From Huntington Station, N.Y.
I will be attending to Clarkson University, my major will be civil engineering. I was born in El Salvador. I came to the United States when I was 12 years old. " You will never be free until you free yourself from the prison of your own false thoughts" -Philip Arnold. This quote has a lot of meaning to me because, a lot of the time I didn't believe in myself and I feel I wasn't good enough for a lot of stuff, however with help of my family, and my blue devil family, I was able to gain self-esteem, and realize that a lot of things are possible, once you start believing in yourself.

Young Leaders
This club is really similar to Key Club, we would do community service in the Town area. We did event such as handing out flyer to homeless, so they knew the information of the shelter houses during the winter. We also handed out gift to kids who lives in hard conditions. Most of the time was trying to help the needed. A lot of the events that we did, they happen in the last minute. We would get a text from our organizer and we would be there to do whatever we could
