Software Engineering Intern at Yelp
I worked as a Search/DataMining intern on the Transaction Growth team which is responsible for increasing the number of Yelp platform transactions.
I initially worked on various analyses/experiments on real-world Yelp data using Amazon Redshift to discover order trends on Yelp Platform and devise a new metric ‘Delivery Score’ for all businesses on Yelp, based on user-reviews, delivery statistics & other existing metrics.
For my internship project, I built a feature 'Delivery Search tags' to display annotations on Yelp Delivery Searches to make existing results compelling to users to start an order, which is now live on www.yelp.com. Example of some of those tags:
1) Most Popular Delivery restaurant per category per city
2) Trending restaurants per city
3) Most Popular Items for a restaurant
4) Hot 'n' New on Yelp Delivery
