Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band is the other concert band offered at KU. It is only offered during the spring semester. We only play one concert a semester. During Spring 2019, I had the opportunity to conduct a piece I written called "Night Sky".

Sigma Alpha Iota

I was initiated as a sister into SAI in the Spring of 2017. SAI is an all women's music fraternity whose focus is on service, and spreading music to everyone. We perform one concert a semester and do some service projects along with socials and bake sales throughout the semester.

Kutztown University Marching Unit (KUMU)

I was/am apart of the clarinet section for the Marching Unit. We perform at all home football games, select away games, parades in the Kutztown area, and other performance opportunities on/off campus. As part of student staff, we are in charge of making sure the speakers/sound system, podiums and water jugs are where they need to be for rehearsals and games. As the band secretary, I keep track of attendance from all sections and coordinate with students on whether or not they are coming to rehearsal.

Wind Ensemble

I am involved with the KU Wind Ensemble, playing clarinet and bass clarinet. We go on tour during the Spring semester to places like Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. We play 2 concerts a semester and we play at Spring Graduation. During my Spring 2018 semester, the KU Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the PMEA conference in Lancaster, PA.

I am required to upload notes 24 hours after the completion of that class, and if I happen to miss a class, that I find someone else's notes so I can complete my job.

Night Sky - Original Band Composition

'Night Sky' is a piece I started to compose during my freshman year at KU. With the help of Dr. Metcalf, who I take private lessons in composition with, he helped me finish the piece during my Spring semester, 2018. After it was complete, Professor Neuenschwander let me conduct the piece and work on it in front of the Symphonic Band, after our concert was over. The piece is tailored after our symphonic band, hence why there's no bass clarinetist.
