Phuong is a senior at Colgate University majoring in Sociology and Asian Studies, concentrating on China. She declared Sociology due to her interest in understanding how environmental, political, and economic phenomena impact the behaviors of different communities. As someone who enjoys interactive encounters, she is fascinated by theoretical explanations of why societies behave in certain ways. She also declared Asian Studies because she wanted to expand her knowledge of Asia. Phuong had the opportunities of participating in an extended study to China and a semester-long off-campus study program at the University of Manchester in England.
While at Colgate, Phuong has been involved in various student organizations and taken leadership positions that helped her develop strong communication, management, organization, and planning skills. She is able to further develop these skills through internship opportunities.
In a working environment, Phuong enjoys collaboration, but also independent work. Currently, she is looking for professional opportunities in marketing, real estate, communications, digital media, public relations, and related fields.
