Aloha everyone! My name is Gavlinn, but most people know me as Puna. I am from Nanakuli, Hawai'i and am pursuing a BA in Digital Art. Originally, I was a Digital Art and Japanese Studies double major, however due to the pandemic, I had to give up pursuing a degree in Japanese because I was unable to go abroad. Despite this, I am very excited to now minor in Media Studies and am looking forward to what I will learn and how this will apply to my Digital Art major. I hope you enjoy learning more about me through this page! Fun fact: the background is a pattern design that I worked on, which illustrates the Hawaiian plant kalo (also known as taro)!

Hawaii Club

As a co-chair for our university's Lu'au & Ho'ike, I am responsible for planning the event along with my fellow co-chairs (2).Lu'au & Ho'ike is a celebration and display of Polynesian culture. It is all student led, which includes both the planning process and teaching process. For this event I was also a teacher (Kumu) for a number of dances. The co-chairs work year-round in order to make sure that this event is possible. I have been a co-chair for about 3 years now and have been teaching dances since my freshmen year in college.
