Quang Huynh

Coming from Vietnam, I'm pursuing 2 Bachelor degrees in Robotics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Institute Polytechnic. Before enrolling to WPI, I realized Im not going to become an artist or at least an industrial designer as I dreamed of (even though I did have a slight of drawing talent in me). Instead, I have participated in a lot of robotics competition in Vietnamese high school and also taken part in many more projects. Experiencing the whole journey with lots of ups and downs makes me decide that I loved to become an engineer or more specifically, a roboticist. And WPI provided me a great chance to do so: so far, I have joined a Battle Bot tournament at NY MakerFaire and currently been working on the Savage Soccer project of my first RBE Course. Overall, the fast-paced and project-based environment pushed me to learn so quickly everything that is essential for engineering: programming, SOLIDWORKs, machining skills such as welding, laser cutting, etc. When Im not working on a robot project, I will usually coordinate projects for Project SUGAR, a youth volunteer organization engaging underprivileged kids in Vietnam. I also love basketball and football (lets go Celtics and Pats), enjoy underground music and traveling around the world. I love meeting new people and explore new things, so feel free to say hello and share stories with me! My abilities: Programming Language: Java, C++, and LabView. Machine Shop Techniques: designed CAD designs with SOLIDWORKs; experienced different materials such as natural wood, aluminum; operated machining tools such as cut-off saw, belt grinder, drill press, milling machines, tube bending machine, etc.; be able to work with laser cutter and welding tools as well. Event planning: be able to organize events, scheduling, and logistics.
