Rachael Bourne

Kennesaw State University, Class of 2019
From Mableton, GA
Recent graduate of Kennesaw State University. Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in English Education. I am a passionate teacher who loves to travel and teach. During my last semester of student teaching, I traveled abroad to Costa Rica along with one other Kennesaw student. Two weeks after graduation I accepted a full time position at Osborne High School. Being a third year teacher has taught me things that college classes can't cover. Patience, patience, and more patience. Always have a plan B, C, D, and maybe even E. Take it one day at a time, you can't do it all in one night. Also, my students have the power to make me a better teacher and change my life in such a positive way. Summer between my first and second year teaching I taught a bridge program. This allowed future 9th graders to tour Osborne and get a feel of what it will be like as a Freshmen. I also completed a Kennesaw Writing Workshop. This taught me how to teach writing to my students in a "friendly, approachable" manor. June 2015 I received an Advance Placement certification in English Literature.
