As a busser, I learned how to remain calm in a busy environment. While completing my basic duty of clearing dishes from tables, I also improved my people skills by helping customers communicate with the servers.
As a hostess, I have grown my communication skills by talking with customers as I seat them and with co-workers when I ask for advice or inform them of what to expect. I employ my organization skills to improve my efficiency in seating people quickly with the correct number of menus and keeping an accurate wait-list when the restaurant is full. I have enhanced my ability to remain calm and personable in spite of a difficult situation or customer.
